The lock down drills have concluded at all three schools within the district.
This morning Needles School District received a threat that prompted cancelling all classes at their schools. Although there was no threat at all to Mohave Valley schools, the district chose to use this as an opportunity to practice our lock-down procedures.
In a recently released report from the San Bernardino Sheriff's Office, through the MCSO reported that the threats were a hoax, and were received at several schools in southern California and as far away as the United Kingdom.
Thank you for your patience in this matter, and understand that the district takes the safety of our students and staff very seriously.
Fort Mojave Elementary has resumed to regular schedule. Have a great day.
Bulldogs vs. White Cliffs has been cancelled due to lockdown. Our next games will be HOME against Fox Creek this Wednesday the 11th. See you there!
Mohave Valley Schools will be practicing a soft lockdown this morning. The drill will start out this morning and likely last most of the day in order to practice all aspects of an actual event. Should the front door of the school be locked, please contact the school office via phone for entry. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Thank you to Tiera from the Mohave County Department of Public Health for the fun and active training on the CATCH program. The ideas were fun and simple for all of the staff. Camp and Fort thank you for the ideas and time.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of long-time principal Craig Vallon.
Mr. Vallon joined Mohave Valley School District in 1986, assuming the principalship of Mohave Valley Jr. High after teaching science in the Bullhead City Elementary District for many years. He was an instrumental part of the planning process for the “new” junior high built on Boundary Cone, and in 1998 he was promoted to the district’s Director of Administration, overseeing not only the punchlist on both Mohave Valley Jr. High and Camp Mohave Elementary, but coordinated all maintenance and transportation services before his retirement in 2000.
During his time with the district, Mr. Vallon would often speak to classes throughout the district in his Mountain Man persona, speaking to students regarding early life in the west. Most notably, Mr. Vallon was known as the yo-yo king to his students, spurring a yo-yo craze amongst many classes of students that moved through Mohave Valley Jr. High.
Craig’s wife, Denise, was a long time science teacher at Mohave High, and his son, Chance, currently works for Mohave High School as a school counselor. Please join the Mohave Valley family in expressing our condolences to the Vallon family.
8th Grade AIMS Science testing this morning! Altered schedule.
