Parents and Guardians:

Please be aware that the MVESD Governing Board meets telephonically this evening at 6pm and will be discussing the future plans of what school will look like (Hybrid - Currently vs. Distance Learning - Virtual) for the remainder of this quarter as well as when we come back from Winter Break.

\r\n

As I wrote in my last communication, “Depending upon a multitude of circumstances beyond our control, it is a real possibility that we could pivot to a Distance Learning (all-virtual) model for our entire student population at some time during the remainder of the (second) quarter.  We must be fluid in our ability to plan for and adapt to these ever-changing circumstances.”

The Board will be presented this evening with current health metrics and the opportunity to discuss what instructional model is in the best interest of our students, staff, and the general community.

\r\n

Because of the health metrics rising over the past several weeks, please be advised that the outcome of this Board Meeting could be that we move immediately into Distance Learning beginning on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.  Principals are prepared to communicate immediately with you this evening if that change was to happen.

\r\n

This letter provides you information so that you can prepare in case there is an immediate change starting tomorrow.  I apologize for the late notice, but this information comes at a time where the health metrics being released are driving decisions for the health, safety, and welfare of our students, staff, and community. 

\r\n

Thank you for your continued understanding, flexibility, and support as we work together to provide your child(ren) the best instructional model taking into consideration the current COVID-19 local health conditions.  We appreciate you being part of our educational family.  We are working hard to return safer and stronger for everyone!
