JH Parents: Stay Connected with Grades

Grades are an essential component of school. Our goal is to communicate to the student and parent what the child knows. There are several policies that help to guide this communication

  1. 80% of a grade is based off an assessment of a standard
  2. Each teacher provides students an opportunity to retake an assessment as long as the child attempts to re-learn the material within a reasonable time frame
  3. Students who are absent are allowed the same amount of days to turn in assignment
  4. One assignment and one assessment are put into the grade book each week.

There are several ways to stay connected with your child's grades

  1. Activate your parent portal to monitor student grades. For an activation code, call our office at 928-768-9196 
  2. Contact the individual teacher with questions about assignments
  3. Arrange a time for your student to stay after school for extra help
  4. Check your child's binder and planner for assignments and tests
  5. When a student is absent for multiple days, call the office for a homework request
  6. Attend our Parent-Teacher event this Thursday and Friday during drop in time (Thursday 3-5:30 or Friday 8-9:30)
