Do you have or know of a preschool student who will turn 4 by August 31st? If so, Mohave Valley has a free full-day preschool available for district students!
The catch? Because the student slots are funded through a state grant, their families must qualify as low income based on the following guidelines:
"Ninety percent of a child’s brain develops before age 5. The positive, nurturing relationships young kids have with adults — from parents to child care and early learning professionals — shape their learning now and throughout their lives" noted Mandy Waxler, district Director of Special Services.
Research is clear that students who attend preschool are better prepared to take on the rigors of kindergarten, and are more successful throughout their school careers. Mohave Valley has two outstanding preschool teachers in Miss Proa and Mrs. Perez, who have built an excellent program which includes free breakfast, lunch, and door-to-door transportation.
