School Closings

Following the state's phone conference earlier today, there's still not much solid information to districts and parents, as the state legislature must now take specific actions on how the state will treat the days we are closed (next week for us, as this week we're still officially on spring break). The collective understanding of the meeting is that these decisions would be made this week. Once that's settled, other answers will fall into place.

For now, know that at a minimum the district will provide drive through grab and go breakfasts and lunches on each campus each morning, starting next week. Students living in the south valley can pick up meals from River Valley High School, and in fact on most campuses in Bullhead City- Bullhead City Middle School (Hancock and Lakeside), Fox Creek JH (Adobe and the Parkway), Sunrise Elementary School (Landon and the Parkway) and Diamondback Elementary School (2550 Tesoto Way).

  • You do not have to attend the campus where you pick up meals.
  • Any child under the age of 18 can receive a meal at no charge, regardless of enrollment. This includes charter school students and home-schooled students

All campus meals on all campuses will be distributed between 8-10am, Monday through Friday; Federal guidelines require that students must be present (in the car) to received the meals.

At this time the district does not plan to offer specific lessons nor require homework while school is closed, however, we will share resources for free online websites, as well as simple activities to help engage students while they're out: Watch for those next Monday.

Finally, campuses are closed to students and to public use. All practices, games, and events are canceled until we reopen.
