School Closings

The district received word this past hour that Governor Ducey has closed all Arizona schools  through March 27th. Please click here for more information on the announcement.

Mohave Valley Schools are already on spring break through Friday, March 20th. The Governor's announcement effectively extends spring break for an additional week.

The district already has plans for an alternative method for providing breakfast and lunch to students: Watch for details to be posted on this site no later than the afternoon of Friday, March 20th.

As mentioned in Friday's message, this situation continues to develop at a rapid pace. It's important to consider that while at this time the Governor is only closing schools through March 27th, the Center for Disease Control (CDC's) latest guidance notes that short-term closures may not be as effective as long-term closures in stopping the spread of the virus. Obviously the length of school closures could change at any time, based on the Governor's direction of guidance from the CDC.

As we learn more, we will keep you posted.

Keep doing what you can to slow the spread by practicing good hygiene including covering coughs and sneezes, washing hands frequently, and staying home as much as possible during this period of school closures.
