Stacy Fernandez

The district is pleased to introduce Stacy Fernandez. Stacy has worked with the district for seven years in a variety of capacities, including Special Education paraprofessional, Title I Reading Interventionist, Junior High Library Clerk, Health Clerk, and most recently and for the past two years district and governing board secretary.

Originally from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Ms. Fernandez later moved to Florida where she graduated from high school before moving west to Arizona. Following high school, Ms. Fernandez attended community college where she studied psychology. Upon her employment in the district office, Ms. Fernandez has attended several workshops offered through the Arizona School Boards Association geared at school boardsmanship.

One little known fact about Ms. Fernandez: After high school, she attended NASCAR College in South Carloina where she worked on race car engines and studied general automotive processes. Ms. Fernandez is also going to become a first-time mother (and providing the district office with it's first office grand baby!), expecting baby Aurora Alice next May.

When asked about her proudest or most rewarding moment working for the district. Ms. Fernandez shared her experience as a library clerk: “I was able to work with students leading literacy circles, a practice where students read and discuss books: Seeing the kids really getting into the books they were reading, excited about sharing and reenacting scenes, made all the prep work totally worth it.”

“Ms. Fernandez is a great asset to our district office staff” noted Jenette King, Business Manager. She’s has great phone etiquette, is diligent staying on top of teacher certification and fingerprint dates, and she’s the best office holiday decorator we have! We’d likely be lost without her”.
