The wind is really getting to Fort Mojave's internet. Sorry streamers! All instruction will be posted by 12 noon today as usual though for you to view. Thank you all for working with us.
CMES has been unable to get the live stream active this morning. If you have been attempting to watch the stream, the recording will be posted later this morning for reading and in the afternoon for math. For attendance purposes, please contact the school at 928-704-3600 if your child was not in the Google meet prior to the stream.
Hey Dust Devils! Remember that Friday is a digital day of school. Be sure to sign on Google Meets by 8:00 AM to check in for attendance. Your teachers will also be offering extra help and office hours, so check with them for those times. Also note that our front office closes at 2:00 PM so that we can deep clean and sanitize it for the week to come! Thank you all for your support as we navigate these unprecedented times.
Bulldogs had a great first day back! It was so wonderful to see our students. We are aware that all things were not perfect today-specifically the streaming challenge. Streaming does not begin until 9:05 for first period so students should not be logging in to streaming earlier than that. We will be testing Tuesday and Thursday, so streaming will be abbreviated for ELA and math on those days. We look forward to another great day tomorrow. Go Bulldogs!
Fort Mojave is excited to welcome our Dust Devils back this week! We understand that students will need help getting to their classes. There will be a table outside of each entrance for assistance, and students will be ushered to class by our staff members. Parent pick-up will take place in person at the far south end of our parking lot. Please exercise caution when in our parking lot. We appreciate everyone's flexibility, as this is new for us all. We got this!
MVJHS would like to advise all parents who are dropping off/picking up students the following: Our building will not be open prior to 8:20 am. and our quad gates will be closed. Students will only enter through front doors that will open promptly at 8:20. Please do not drop off children prior to that time as there will be no supervision outside. Instead, once proceeding through the front doors at opening, students will pick up breakfast (should they wish) and proceed directly to their 1st period class where they will be supervised by their 1st period teacher. Thank you for your support in this and we look forward to welcoming students into our building once again. Go Bulldogs!
School starts in-person instruction on Monday; however, MVESD will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch for ALL children who are 18 and under until the end of December! Revised Food Pick-Up Locations: https://5il.co/m7ct Monday through Thursday both lunch and breakfast will be provided. On Fridays, we will follow the same schedule and will provide food for over the weekend (3-day pick-up) Camp and Fort will provide for curbside pick-up from 9-10am, Monday-Friday.

The Boys and Girls Club and MVESD are partnering to support families during Distance Learning starting August 17th. MVESD starts school on August 5th and continues Distance Learning through the first quarter. We are reaching out to our families that are in need of child care that supports your child's Distance Learning experience throughout the work week. The Boys and Girls Club will be open for full-day programming 7:30am to 6:00pm with lunch provided, Monday through Friday. This program is keenly aware of CDC guidelines and will follow social distancing, routine sanitizing, and require face coverings. If this option is of interest to you, please click the link provided. Please read through this application, in its entirety, for more information to help determine whether your family will need this child-care option in light of school buildings being closed. This link will remain open until August 10th. https://forms.gle/ZVXmwF3KKoXUyENVA Thank you! Boys and Girls Club & MVESD #16
Welcome Back! School Begins: August 5th 7/24/2020 Parents, Guardians And Community: Thank you all for your attendance and/or viewing of our Board meeting last evening at Mohave Valley Junior High. For those who weren’t able to get the information, the Board voted to start the first quarter using our Distance Learning Model. The specifics of this plan are located within the framework of our Road Map for Re-entry, which can be accessed with the attached link. Please know one of the guiding principles to this plan was the health and safety of our staff and students. Our plan has been vetted by local health professionals, follows CDC guidelines, aligns with the White House guidelines for Opening Up America and speaks to the guidance provided by local, state and national health professionals. MVESD is welcoming both new and veteran teachers back next week as they prepare for school to start on August 5th. Please know that school has never been shut down, only buildings have closed. Distance Learning has come a long way since the end of last year. Please know that teachers are excited to return and meet their students, your children. They will be reaching out next week, introducing themselves, talking about the first day of school and explaining about how the first quarter will look. It is ok to be a little nervous about how all of this is going to work. Our teachers will paint the picture of what the day in the life of Distance Learning looks like and what to expect as we embark on this educational journey together. This is a great opportunity for us to see this as a way to Reinvent, Reimagine and Redesign what we have known traditional education to be, removing the walls of the classroom. We know that in-person learning is what is best for kids; however, our goal is to make the Distance Learning model one that is meaningful and relevant for your child. Our Road Map for Re-Entry allows for maximum flexibility and fluidity, as needed within the framework of instructional models. Our goal is to have in-person instruction beginning the second quarter. Between now and then, we will continue to monitor local health conditions and work with health officials to determine the most appropriate learning environment for the second quarter, and will communicate with parents well in advance for what learning opportunities will be available. Technology and devices will be made available to students and families who are in need so they can successfully engage with their teachers and peers in this remote learning environment. As schools begin to reach out, they will be surveying the needs of devices and internet access. As we all know, the information we are receiving is only as good as the moment it is being given. I think it is safe to say that everyone - staff, students, parents and our community hope to welcome students back to our SMALL. SAFE. Neighborhood Schools. second quarter. Please keep up with District communications via social media and website. Don’t hesitate to contact your child’s school or the District Office if you should have any questions. While this is the most challenging start to a school year that any of us have ever experienced, we are excited to begin the 2020-2021 school year. As always, thank you for being part of the MVESD educational family. Have a great last week of summer vacation! With much appreciation, Cole Young MVESD Superintendent Road Map for Re-Entry: https://5il.co/ilh3

Don't have the app? Download it TODAY (it's supposed to rain again tomorrow :-)
The main phone line is still down at the junior high: While we're working to hurry along the phone company, in the meantime you can dial 768-1254 or 768-1252, and when the auto attendant answers, punch in extension 3001, which will get you to the secretary.
Schools are open today! The buses will be using Ashley Street to get to the Jr. High, which runs from the end of Joy Lane south along the power lines to Boundary Cone. It’s a maintained dirt road that was quite passable in the school’s Focus.

At this time, we are not sure if the routes will be able to complete each stop or if they will be on time. If the bus does not arrive, please contact your child's school for more information.

CMES is excited to congratulate Erika Delgado for her performance on the AZMerit Math test at the end of last year. After reviewing her score, it was found that she had scored a perfect score on the 3rd Grade Math Test. While scoring proficient and highly proficient on any standardized test is difficult, it is rare for any student to get every question right. If you see Erika, don't forget to congratulate her on the achievement.
Next Thursday, all FME students are encouraged to wear a college shirt. This is free, and will occur monthly! The days are already set on our district calendar, so be ready!

MVJH would like to celebrate Ms. Pantermoller...Ms. Pantermoller has been a teacher with MVESD for 14 years teaching math, including Algebra, for most of them. She has both a BS and a BA in the fields of Geography and Math respectively and an MA in Teaching. Ms.Pantermoller states that she especially enjoys working with students who lack efficacy in math and show them the strategies and methods that foster a more confident and prepared math student when they exit her classroom. She has two beautiful children that attend school in our district. Interestingly enough, along with her two children, she also is raising 3 emus!
